Designing For a Brand New Category of Companionship

Introducing India to a companionship platform built on activities, not dating.

Build the digital marketing and social media presence for Instayaar, a companionship platform connecting people for verified, activity-based experiences, city tours, cafe hopping, walks, hobbies, explicitly distinct from dating or matchmaking.

The constraint

Instayaar sits in a category that doesn't have an established vocabulary yet, and the nearest reference points, dating apps, actively work against it. Every piece of content had to do double duty: introduce a genuinely new idea, and immediately draw the line between what it is and what it isn't.

The idea

A New Category Needs Its Own Language.

Messaging was built around the activity, not the person, a walk, a museum visit, a conversation over coffee, making the platform's non-romantic, safety-first premise legible from the very first post rather than something explained in the fine print.

Expression

A social media strategy introduced Instayaar's core idea, verified companionship for shared public activities, through content built around real use cases and safety mechanics, positioning the platform clearly against dating apps from the outset rather than letting the audience assume the comparison.

“When you're creating a category, the marketing's first job isn't growth. It's making sure people understand what they're even looking at.”

A distinct, clearly understood brand identity for Instayaar as it enters India's experience economy, built to earn trust in a category still explaining itself to a first-time audience.
