# Plain-text mirror. Same words as the human page, minus everything a browser needed.
Eight companies pass that check and are listed below. Two names you will meet on lists like this one do not: Digital Googly's domain no longer resolves and BrandStory has no Kolkata office. I have not padded the count back to a round number. Padding is how a list like this turns into fiction, and eight true entries beat ten confident ones.
Start with the conflict, because everything below depends on it. I run Pixel Street, a web design and branding studio in Salt Lake, Kolkata. We design and build for Coca-Cola, ITC and Marico, and we sell SEO retainers. Every other company named on this page is competing with me for the same clients in the same city.
So there is no ranking here. The list is alphabetical, our own entry is labelled as ours, and it carries no claim about our results that I cannot show you the workings for. If a rule is worth applying to a competitor it is worth applying to yourself.
What I can honestly offer you is a check. On 30 July 2026 I opened every one of these companies' websites and looked at whether the company still exists, still sells search work, and still trades in this city. Everything below is what that company's own site said on that date.

That screenshot is the only view of Digital Googly anyone can still get. digitalgoogly.com still has four nameservers pointed at it, and they answer, but the zone contains no address record at all. Google's resolver, Cloudflare's and Quad9's all return zero answers for both the bare domain and the www host. Nothing can load. The zone's serial number reads 2025072204, which in the conventional format means the last edit anyone made to it was on 22 July 2025.
Third-party directories still list the company and still disagree with each other about its address, which tells you what those directories are worth. The company may exist in some form. Its website does not, and I will not recommend an agency I cannot open.
BrandStory Solutions Pvt Ltd is alive and well, footer copyright 2026, with a serious SEO practice. It is simply not in Kolkata. Its own page title reads "Digital Marketing Company in Bangalore India", its head office is in Domlur Layout, Bangalore, and the other offices it publishes are Chennai, Hyderabad, Mumbai and Delhi. The word Kolkata does not appear on its homepage once.
A national agency can absolutely serve you here. It does not belong on a list of local ones, and printing its Bangalore address under a Kolkata heading is how a shortlist stops meaning anything.
Agency homepages in this city advertise organic success rates, project counts in the hundreds and long walls of client logos. Those numbers sit on the agency's own site and nowhere else, and I could confirm almost none of the relationships behind them from anything other than the agency claiming them.
Repeating a company's self-description on somebody else's blog does not make it a fact. It launders it. A logo on a portfolio wall can mean a three-year retainer or one afternoon of subcontracted work, and you have no way to tell which from a blog post. If a number matters to your decision, make the agency put it in writing with the work behind it.
The same rule binds us. I am not going to quote you a growth figure for a Pixel Street client here, because I cannot put the analytics behind it in a public post. Ask us for numbers in a room and you will get numbers.
Most of these sites have been rebuilt since. Read them as an archive, not a preview.
Listed alphabetically. The order carries no judgement and is not a ranking. "Footer year" is the copyright date the company's own site prints, which is the cheapest proxy available for whether anyone still maintains it.
| Company | Where its own site puts it | Footer year | What the fetch showed |
|---|---|---|---|
| DotCreative | Nandram Sen Street, Kolkata 700005 | 2026 | Live; SEO sold as a named service |

| Plan D Media | Ecospace Business Park, Newtown | None printed | Live; blog stops at November 2025 |
| PromotEdge | Ambuja Neotia EcoCentre, Sector V | 2015 – 2026 | Live; blog current to February 2026 |

DotCreative sells search engine optimisation as a named service rather than burying it inside a digital marketing bundle, alongside web design, content writing, social media and graphic design. Its site gives 2016 as the founding year, its footer reads 2026, and its homepage links a 2026 piece on Google Ads for jewellery businesses, so somebody is still writing there.

[IMG: excellist SEO agency in kolkata]
Excellis presents itself as an IT services company first: its own page title sells web development and app design, and SEO turns up further down, inside a digital marketing list with social media, PPC, email and content. That is not a criticism, and it is worth knowing before you brief them. A search practice attached to a software business is a different shape of supplier from a search specialist, and the difference tends to show up in who actually ends up doing your work.
The site publishes no street address, so there is none to give you below. Footer 2025.

FavFly publishes separate service pages for SEO in Kolkata, local SEO and Google Business Profile work, alongside Meta ads, websites and automation, which is a narrower and more legible offer than most sites here manage. Footer 2018 to 2026. If your problem is that nobody finds your clinic or showroom on a map, that is the shape of agency built for the job.
It publishes no postal address anywhere I could find, so there is none below.

A full-service digital agency with SEO Services listed under its digital marketing practice, alongside Google Ads, social media, performance marketing, marketplace optimisation and web and app work. Offices in Kolkata and Hyderabad, plus a US address in Beverly Hills.
Kreative Machinez is no longer on S. P. Mukherjee Road in Bhowanipore. Its Kolkata office is in Sector V. One small thing I noticed while checking: the copyright line reads 2008 to 2025 on the homepage and 2008 to 2026 on the contact page, which is the kind of detail nobody notices on their own site.
Address: 6th Floor, Stesalit Tower, E2/3EP, GP Block, Sector V, Bidhannagar, Kolkata 700091

The site protects its email address from scrapers, so there is no address I can confirm from the source to print here.

This is my own studio. Read this entry knowing that.
We are a web design, branding and digital marketing studio in Salt Lake. Search engine optimisation is one of the services we sell, alongside branding, web design, social media and paid search. The one specific fact I am willing to put in a post like this is that we design for Coca-Cola, ITC and Marico, because it is checkable and it describes exactly one agency in this city.
Since I have been marking other people's stale footers all the way down this page, here is ours: pixelstreet.in prints a 2025 copyright line in July 2026. The cobbler's children problem is real and we are not exempt from it.

Plan D Media positions itself around performance rather than craft, and its site is unusually specific about commercial terms: no fixed-term contracts, no advance payment, a stated cap of thirty clients at a time. Those are checkable promises rather than adjectives, and they tell you more about how an engagement will run than any list of services does. SEO, local SEO, paid media, social and web development are all sold.
Two things to note. The footer prints no year at all, just "Copyright ©, Plan D Media", and the blog's own archive stops in November 2025. Neither proves anything by itself. Together they suggest the marketing site is nobody's current priority.

A creative and digital agency in Sector V that lists search engine optimisation alongside social media optimisation, influencer and performance marketing, with brand strategy and audio-visual production either side of it. Its footer runs 2015 to 2026 and its newest blog post is dated 18 February 2026. A January one argues that the old reporting frameworks of positions, clicks and impressions no longer describe search performance. That is a firm still arguing with the work rather than describing itself, which is rarer on agency blogs than you would hope.

If you have this agency down as "Indus Net TechShu", that name is out of date. The site today is run by TechShu Digital Pvt. Ltd. and carries no Indus Net branding anywhere. Indus Net itself has moved on too: indusnet.co.in now redirects to intglobal.com. Two separate companies, one stale name that keeps getting copied forward.
What TechShu sells is enterprise-scale search: SEO, PPC, content, conversion optimisation, marketing automation, online reputation management, and a page for answer engine optimisation, which is the current name for getting cited inside AI-generated answers. It publishes a monthly budget range starting near a lakh in its own enquiry form, which is a useful filter to see before you book a call. Offices in Kolkata, Chennai, Mumbai and Hyderabad, plus London, Singapore, Toronto, Warsaw and Boise.

The standard advice on this subject is to check experience, avoid black hat techniques, look for transparency and expect good customer service. No agency has ever failed to claim all four, so that list sorts nobody. Here is what I would ask instead, and some of it is uncomfortable to answer from my side of the table.
This is the question that decides what happens when the relationship ends, and almost nobody asks it at the start. Whose Google Search Console property is your site verified in? Whose Analytics account holds four years of history? Who owns the copy they wrote and the links they built? If the answer is the agency, you are renting your own search performance, and the rent gets renegotiated the day you try to leave. I lost two companies before Pixel Street, and the lesson that survived both is that you never build your main asset on ground somebody else controls.
An agency that agrees with everything you suggest has no method. Ask what campaigns they have talked a client out of, and what part of your current plan they think is a waste of money. The useful answer is specific and slightly awkward. The useless answer is a longer list of services.
Nobody controls Google's index, so nobody can guarantee a position in it. What an agency can honestly commit to is a volume of work, a reporting cadence and a metric you agreed on together. If a proposal promises page one by a date, you have learned something valuable about that agency for free.
A quote produced before anybody has looked at your site's crawl, your competitors or your existing rankings is a sales document, not an estimate. Comparing several of them mostly reveals who is most willing to guess low. For why the numbers in this city vary so wildly, what web design costs in Kolkata covers the same dynamic, and it applies just as neatly to retainers. The wider set of questions worth asking any supplier before you sign is in the questions worth asking before you hire an agency.
No. I compete with these companies for work. Any ranking I published would be worth nothing to you, and the rankings you find elsewhere on this subject are assembled from the agencies' own marketing copy or from whoever paid the directory.
Because we genuinely sell search work in this city, and quietly leaving ourselves off would be a different kind of dishonesty. What we do not get is an advantage. No top slot, no case study, and no growth figure I cannot show you the workings for.
One company's website no longer resolves and one is headquartered in Bangalore with no office here. I could have found two more names to keep the number round. That would have meant recommending firms I had not checked, in order to protect a heading, which is exactly the trade every list like this quietly makes.
Not on that alone. Plenty of good agencies never touch their own site because all their work arrives by referral, and ours prints last year's copyright date as I write this. A stale footer becomes a real signal when it stacks with other things: an abandoned blog, no recent work, a careers page frozen in time. Where I saw that stacking, I have said so.
Every company on it was fetched on 30 July 2026. Local agency lists rot faster than almost any other kind of page: a dead domain or a head office in a different city can sit on one for years without anybody noticing. If you are reading this long after that date, open the sites yourself first. It takes four minutes and it is the most useful thing you can do with this post.
Different job, different shortlist. We check two other Kolkata lists the same way this one is checked: social media marketing companies in Kolkata and mobile app development companies in Kolkata.
Eight companies, ten sites opened, one dead domain and one agency that is not in this city. What the list claims is deliberately small: no rankings, no borrowed client logos, no success rates anybody can check, and my own interest in the outcome declared in the first line rather than buried in the last.
That is a less impressive page than a confident top ten. It is also the only kind of page I would hand to somebody I liked. Search is a long game with compounding returns and no shortcuts, which means the agency worth hiring is the one that answers the questions above without flinching.
Every figure in this article traces to one of the following. Publisher and publication date are recorded so a claim can be checked against its origin, and re-checked when the origin changes.
