Every list of the best agencies in a city is written by somebody with a stake in it, and almost none of them say so. I run Pixel Street, a digital and web design studio in Salt Lake, Kolkata. We sell social media marketing. Every other agency named on this page competes with us for the same clients in the same city. The usual way a page like this resolves that is to put the author at number one with a case study attached, as though that were a finding rather than an advertisement.
I am not going to leave us off, because we genuinely do this work and a list of this city's agencies that quietly omitted one of them would be its own kind of dishonesty. So there is no ranking here. The order is alphabetical, our own entry is labelled as ours, and one evidence rule covers every entry including that one: no borrowed client logos, and no results claim without a number behind it. If a rule is worth applying to a competitor it is worth applying to yourself, and a list that cannot survive that test was never worth reading.
Then the boring part. On 30 July 2026 I opened every one of these agencies' websites. One of them no longer has a website at all.

Three of the nine now publish an address different from the one they are commonly listed at. Addresses are the first thing to rot on a page like this, and they rot silently, because nobody reopens the page. That is the normal condition of local agency roundups, including the ones that outrank this page.
This is the one that matters, so it goes first. digitalgoogly.com still has nameservers pointed at it, but it has no address record at all, so no server answers for it. A browser returns "could not resolve host"; a public resolver returns zero answers. Any link to it, from anywhere, goes nowhere.
Third-party directories still list the company, and the addresses they give for it disagree with each other, which tells you roughly what those directories are worth. The company may well still exist in some form. Its website does not, and a recommendation you cannot open is not a recommendation. It is not on the list below.
If an agency's service list still reads "Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn", that tells you something. Elon Musk announced the rebrand to X in July 2023, and on 17 May 2024 the technical migration finished and twitter.com began redirecting to x.com. CBS News reported it the same day, quoting Musk's "All core systems are now on X.com." Every reference on this page says X. It is a small thing that signals something larger: a page that still says Twitter in 2026 has not been read by its own author since 2023.
These agencies are commonly credited with work for Emami, Coca-Cola, TATA Metaliks, IIT Kharagpur, Haldia Petrochemicals and a dozen others. I could not confirm a single one of those relationships from a primary source, and a logo on an agency's wall can mean a three-year retainer or one afternoon of freelance work. So none of them is repeated below.
The same rule costs us our own paragraph. Our entry names no clients and quotes no results, for exactly the reason nobody else's does. Ask us for real numbers and we will show you real numbers; a blog post is not where that belongs.

We are a web design, branding and digital marketing studio in Salt Lake. We design and build for Coca-Cola, ITC and Marico, which is the one specific fact about us I am willing to put in a post like this, because it is checkable and it describes exactly one agency. Social media marketing is one of the services we sell, alongside SEO, paid search, content, email and web design.
There are no client names and no case study in this entry, for the same reason there are none in the eight around it. Speaking Mirror is the most interesting technical case on this page, and worth a paragraph because it shows why a link checker is not enough.
Fetch speakingmirror.in and you get a 200 response and about 1,900 bytes containing a page title and nothing else. Every path on the site returns the identical bytes. A crude checker would call that healthy; a sceptical one might call it a placeholder. Both would be wrong. It is a JavaScript application that renders entirely in the browser, and inside that code sits a fully current agency: a 2026 copyright line, a social media service, portfolio work linking to Instagram reels, and three offices.
The agency has moved to Shakespeare Sarani from Golpark, and now lists Mumbai and Dubai offices as well.

The standard advice is to pick an agency that understands your business, is creative, is strategic, is organised and is passionate about their work. Nobody has ever chosen an agency on that basis, because no agency has ever failed to claim all five. Here is what I would actually ask, and yes, I would be uncomfortable answering some of it.
This is the question that decides what happens when the relationship ends, and almost nobody asks it at the start. Whose Meta Business Manager holds your page? Whose ad account has your spend history and your pixel data in it? If the answer is the agency, then leaving means starting your audience data from zero, and every renewal conversation happens with that gun on the table. I lost two companies before Pixel Street, and the lesson that survived both was never to build your main asset on ground somebody else controls. A Business Manager you do not own is exactly that.
An agency that will do anything you ask has no method. Ask what campaigns they have argued a client out of, and what they would tell you not to bother with. The useful answer is specific and slightly awkward. The useless answer is a list of services.
Follower growth is the metric agencies volunteer, because it is the one they can always deliver and the one least connected to revenue. Decide the number that actually matters to your business, whether that is qualified enquiries, cost per lead or repeat purchase rate, and get it into the agreement. If an agency resists that conversation, the resistance is your answer.
Reach on every major platform is set by algorithms nobody outside those companies controls, and they change without notice. The question is not whether an agency can promise results despite that. It is what they did the last time it happened. Anyone working in this field since 2023 has lived through a platform renaming itself and rebuilding its API access. Ask what that cost their clients and how they handled it.

Because we do the work, and leaving ourselves off a list of Kolkata social media agencies would be a different kind of dishonesty. What is missing is the advantage: no ranking, alphabetical order, our entry labelled as ours, and no client names or results claims on it, under the same rule that covers everyone else's.
No, and it should not be. I compete with these agencies. Any ranking I published would be worth nothing to you, and the rankings you find elsewhere on this subject are assembled from the agencies' own marketing copy or from whoever paid the directory.
Its domain has nameservers but no address record, so nothing answers for it and the site cannot be loaded. I have no information about the company beyond that and have not guessed. If it returns, it can go back on.
Not by itself. Plenty of good agencies never touch their own site because all their work comes by referral. It is the cobbler's-children problem and it is real. It becomes a signal when it stacks with other things: an abandoned blog, no recent work, a careers page frozen in time. Neither of the two here shows that stacking.
Every agency on it was fetched on 30 July 2026. Local agency lists rot faster than almost any other kind of page, and one name here lost its website entirely. If you are reading this long after that date, open the sites yourself first.
Nine agencies, verified on one day, listed alphabetically, with the author's interest declared at the top rather than buried at the bottom. A tenth is absent because its website no longer exists. No borrowed client logo appears on it, ours included.
That is a less impressive page than a confident top ten. It is also the only version of it I would show to somebody I liked. If you want a social media marketing agency in this city, there are at least nine of us, and the one worth hiring is the one that answers the questions above without flinching.
